Homesick: Experiencing a longing for one's home during a period of absence from it.

I grapple a lot with the world and its ways. With the distance from here to the moon, the moon to the galaxies and the galaxies to Heaven. As weird as it sounds, I miss home. More this season than any other before. I've had weird questions for the Lord this season, I've asked Him how long I will have to endure a life where I get to experience his Presence, His love, His spirit, His children and their children and yet not get to be physically held in His arms. I've mourned Home and I don't even remember it. All I have are a few descriptive words in the Bible to hold me of the home I yearn to see. There is an exhale I long to release in the tangible holding of my Abba's hand. I am aware of how weird this sounds, trust me. Suffering has a way of bringing the child out of us. The neediness for a mother or fathers love. If you're fortunate to have that in the physical in some capacity I believe the Lord is loving you through them. Remember to honor them, to really embrace the hugs you are able to receive from them even if that is all they know how to give.

For those of us who aren't fortunate in that way whether it be due to distance, death or abandonment. I encourage you to not think little of those who the Lord does send, a friend, a sibling, a church member. The Lord is always sending us Love through someone. Remember to not run from it because it doesn't look like the person you long to receive it from. This isn't a long post. I just wanted to send an encouraging word and share a common space with room for your selah as you continue on with your life and the busyness of it all. Many of us have been suffering silently this season. Scripture tells us that Jesus is coming back. It reminds me that eventually this world and the life we lived will be but just a moment. Maybe that's not encouraging for you but to me knowing that Christ one day will come back has anchored me in the midst of all the trials and grieving this season has brought. Maybe that won't be in our lifetime, but may we be okay with dying with that belief like Isaiah did. May our faith in Jesus never die before we do. But until then may we all remember we are allowed to pause in the midst of it all, and when we do may we always remember to look up and then around and find gratitude that we are still alive because victory is always ours in the end.

Matthew 24: 27 NIV - For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
